Royston Photographic Society has announced its latest competition winners, with speakers lined up for the next few weeks.

Several new members joined in the society's most recent open competition.

The top three winning entries were 'Husky Dogs' by Phil Gravett, 'The Cow Shed' by Pat Flicker and 'Fast Rider' by Bob Coote.

Pat captured his photo while on a trip with fellow club members at a working farm in Devon, while Bob achieved his dramatic horse and rider shot by slowing down his shutter speed, to achieve a different effect from his fellow photographers at the event.

Upcoming competitions include a landscapes contest with an external judge, and a knockout event where members vote for their favourite picture by round.

The society's landscape group is heading out on a trip to snap pictures at Sudbury Water Meadows, with some planning to take photos at sunrise and others at sunset.

The society meets at Icknield Walk First School at 7.45pm on Thursdays during term time. To join contact members officer Andrew Gillborn at andrew.gillborn@btopenworld.com.
