Staff at Icknield Walk First School in Royston are "delighted" that pupils are settling into their new term.

Nursery children have begun their 'All About Me' topic to discuss family, friends and feelings, Reception children are reading stories set in woodlands, and Year 1 are using drama to re-tell the story of The Three Little Pigs.

Year 2 children are writing diaries in the style of Samuel Pepys and building Tudor houses from boxes to learn about the Great Fire of London, and Year 3 are studying British history.

Teacher Mrs Jacklin said: “Timelines, artefacts and creative arts will enable our pupils to imagine life from the Stone Age, all the way through to Roman Britain."

Finally, Year 4 pupils are learning about the Amazon Rainforest.
