Visitors to Sandon's village fete can enjoy a range of animal-themed activities - from splat the rat, a horse display, a dog show and more.

The fete will be held from 1pm to 4pm on Sunday, September 17, on the village green and in the village hall.

As is tradition, the event will be opened by Sandon's most recent bride, followed by entertainment from the children of Sandon JMI.

The popular dog show will return with 12 novelty classes including 'waggiest tail' and 'handsomest dog'. Entry costs £2 per dog class.

Along with the back-to-front bike race and space hopper race, visitors can enjoy a coconut shy, a teddy tombola and lots more.

Meanwhile the 'Grand Draw' competition offers £100 cash as first prize, with hampers for runners-up.
