OOH la la! The Moulin Rouge is set to take to the stage in a production of Paris Can-Can at the Gordon Craig Theatre in Stevenage. The lavish musical adventure will be brought to the stage by the Park Avenue Theatrical Group of New York. The production will bring the romance and brilliance of a Parisienne night to life with ruffled petticoats, black stockings, and a French accent. The high-stepping extravaganza will also pay tribute to the unique energies and traditions that have been part of Parisienne night life for years. Six American and French choreographers have created a production which combines the streets, personalities, and traditions of Paris to paint a picture of this unique era of entertainment. The colourful world of Toulouse-Lautrec is recreated as the setting of the production by Randal Wright, who designed the set and costumes. The production will run at the Gordon Craig Theatre on March 22 and March 23 at 7.45pm.
