THIS year's hotly tipped musical talent will be making waves at the Cambridge Corn Exchange this month.

The Shockwaves NME Awards Tour 2008, known as a breeding ground for the best new talent, arrives in the city, bringing with it four exciting bands.

Taking the opening slot are The Ting Tings who have been picked to play the BBC Introducing Stage at Glastonbury this year.

The band will be fresh from touring with Reverend and the Makers.

The Cribs are set to wow the crowds, having already toured with Franz Ferdinand.

The band will also be supporting the legendary Sex Pistols at their comeback gigs in Brixton.

Next on the bill is fiery five- piece Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong.

The Londoners released their debut single Lucio Starts Fire last month.

And finally there is the cheeky, charming electro outfit Does it Offend You, Yeah?

They are the rising stars of the dance floor, and with the track We Are Rockstars they look set to be a firm favourite.

Previous Shockwaves NME Tour's have featured the likes of Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, and The Killers, so things look promising for these latest bands.

The tour will hit the Corn Exchange stage on February 15 at 7pm.

Tickets cost £15.50 and are available from the box office on 01223 357851.
