THE real Queen may now be just a memory - but there are plenty of tribute bands keeping that memory alive.

And one of the leading acts is appearing at Cambridge Corn Exchange on September 8.

One Night of Queen promises to be a stunning two-hour concert, by Gary Mullen & The Works, with superb effects.

Gary, who won the final of Stars In Their Eyes as Freddie Mercury, has toured with this sellout show all over the world.

He has always been a keen singer, and was a big karaoke fan in Glasgow, where he entertained the crowds with his performances of Queen songs.

His wife and mother secretly applied to Stars In Their Eyes on Gary's behalf, and he won the competition in 2000.

He polled a record number of votes - more than double that of the runner-up.

In addition to the UK, Gary and the band are particularly popular in New Zealand, Germany, and Holland.

The band will play all the classic Queen hits, and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £17.50 and are available from the box office on 01223 357851.
