The spirit of George Formby will be sounding out at All Saints Church in Shepreth on Saturday night.

That’s when the sundry strummers of the Royston Ukulele Orchestra will be showing what they can do, in a seasonal concert starting at 7pm.

The orchestra aims to put a ukulele spin on classic pop and rock songs, with some of those Formby flourishes given a 21st century makeover for good measure.

Tickets are £5 and are available from Lois (01763 262022); Val (01763 262525) and Julia (01763 260490)

There’s a raffle and refreshments being rustled up, too.
