ROISIN Murphy and Mark Brydon got together in the mid-1990s to put together an album that reflected the trip-hop stylings that were the flavour of the time.

This new 'best of' traces Moloko's journey from these obscure beginnings to the band's demise, via international club stardom with their anthem Sing it Back.

Despite their huge success, the couple veered away from the balearic club stylings with which they had become associated with Things to Make and Do, a novel, diverse album that managed to tread that difficult line between experimentation and pop.

The band were unable to repeat this first flush of success, but this career retrospective is testament to a band that was determined to plough its own unique furrow.
