FORMER KGB colonel Alexander Litvinenko - the man who died in November after being poisoned with polonium - reveals a secret plot for Russia to unleash the terror of its secret service.

The books shows Litinenko's courage in critising a regime. Perhaps his stance could be a clue to his murder in London after he was allowed political asylum in 2001.

His co-author, Yuri Felshtinsky, is an expert on Russian history, which he teaches at a university in the United States.

As a whole, the book is claimed to uncover Russia in the Putin years.
