The increasingly popular ‘screened as live’ cinema experience offers music and drama to culture vultures over the next couple of weeks.

The Comedy Of Errors, the final production in the 2015 Shakespeare’s Globe On Screen season, is being shown at both Cineworld in Stevenage and the Broadway cinema in Letchworth on Thursday.

The much-praised production has earned five-star reviews for its feast of fun and flying cabbages as it plays out the tangled tale of two pairs of estranged twins and the chaos that ensues.

Superstar violinist Andre Rieu’s famous Maastricht concert will be screened at the Broadway on Saturday, July 18, as the famous fiddler teams up with the Johann Strauss Orchestra to perform against the medieval backdrop of his home town.

Last year’s concert by the man known as the King of Waltz was the highest-grossing one-night music event in UK cinema history, and organisers are hoping for similar success this time round.
