ONE of the UK's biggest selling female artists is set to release a second single from her latest album.

Twenty-four-year-old Katie Melua first hit stereos in 2003, and the British-Georgian singer, songwriter and musician is now renowned for her beautiful yet very different jazz voice.

Her latest single, Mary Pickford, is due out on November 26, and is a witty and poetic musical tribute to the greats of the silver screen's golden days.

Born in Georgia and moving to Ireland at the age of eight, and then to England at 14, Melua joined the BRIT School for the Performing Arts.

She was discovered by English songwriter and producer Mike Batt, who was looking for an artist capable of singing 'jazz and blues in an interesting way'.

It was Terry Wogan's Radio 2 show which frequently played Melua's first single The Closest Thing to Crazy, and she has continued to grow.

With third album, Pictures, now on sale, Melua has a number of accolades behind her, including Echo Awards for Best International Female Artist, and two BRIT award nominations.

The Crow has three pairs of Katie Melua mouse mats and mugs to give away to lucky readers.
