He just happens to be an inspirational songwriter whose work appears simply harmonic and then has a surprising undercurrent.
Buckingham's work as a solo artist has been too much ignored in the past, but here is an album that displays his versatility.
Perhaps the multi-tracked voice may be too much, but it does give a certain authority to Buckingham's lyrics, which in some respect, take him on a return journey to bands such as The Byrds, which were, we are told, among the heroes of his youth.
