Webb is remembered as the man behind the production of Portishead vocalist Beth Gibbons's album Out of Season.
Although The Year of the Leopard seems less traditional than Yorkston's Just Beyond the River, it still has a certain romantic quality and includes the latest single Steady As She Goes.
The tracks on the new album are the kind that do not have a sudden effect, but gradually grow to become more than acceptable.
