The story now is set in Summersisle, a remote island on the Washington coast with Nicolas Cage playing the Edward Woodward role of a detective in search of a missing girl.
As expected, nothing on the island is as it seems and, inevitably, the truth about ancient beliefs and behaviour begin to emerge.
