IAN Broudie, the man behind The Lightning Seeds, will forever be associated with Three Lions - a song that will surely be paying the Broudie family gas bills for generations to come. A quick dip into the man's history, however, reveals an overlooked fixture of British music for more than 25 years.
After producing seminal 80s Liverpool bands Echo and the Bunnymen and The Teardrop Explodes, Broudie decided to get out from behind the desk and have a bash himself.
The Lightning Seeds were never likely to rework the musical landscape, but this album of shiny, enjoyable hits is testament to an underrated pop writer.
