IT is difficult to believe that the story of headmistress Colleen McCabe is actually true.
But here we had a woman seen as a pillar of the community who stole huge amounts of money from her school to pay for a lavish lifestyle.
Pauline Quirke gives a remarkable performance as the headmistress who went from her early days as a nun to a woman taking every opportunity to collect her own wealth at the expense of her school.
While she was spending money on holidays and clothes, the school saw pupils sharing worn out textbooks and having to clean their own classrooms.
It was not until a local education authority audit that the truth was revealed.
