Cooke - as those who each week listened to his Letter From America know - had a passion for sport.
And that passion was more so for the game of golf.
The Marvellous Mania demonstrates both Cooke's love for the game and the brilliance of his reporting skills.

As usual with Cooke there is his marvellous writing and that mischievous charm that came through in much of his work.
