A SECOND showing of the drama which has Albert Finney playing Winston Churchill in the pre-war years and shows the politician's return from the brink of obscurity to re-emerge as the nation's leader during the Second World War.
Finney is absolutely convincing as Churchill, who at the time was going to daring lengths to warn Britain about the threat of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime.
The strength of the production is helped by Vanessa Redgrave as Churchill's wife, and Linus Roache as Brendan Bracken, who was seen as Churchill's political adviser.
The production saw the return to the screen of Ronnie Barker, playing Churchill's butler.
