THE latest band to be labelled the "next big thing" by the music press, The Enemy have burst on to the scene with glowing references from the likes of Kasabian and Boy Kill Boy.
Their swaggering demeanour and lyrics packed with references to council estate life have led to comparisons with Oasis and Arctic Monkeys. Unfortunately debut album, We'll Live and Die in These Towns, fails to live up to the hype.
While many of the songs are catchy and polished - You're Not Alone and recent single It's Not OK being the best examples - there is nothing here which makes The Enemy stand out from the crowd.
It seems The Enemy are here to stay. However, those expecting the new saviours of rock music will have to wait a bit longer.
