The children discover in a land of make-believe talking beasts, centaurs and giants, and a world cursed to eternal winter by an evil white witch.
The children set about breaking the witch's spell with the help of Aslan the lion, and Jadis, the noble and mystical ruler.
As in any adventure of this kind there is a spectacular, climactic battle to overcome the witch's spell.
