FRESH from wowing the crowds at Glastonbury, Broken Family Band are back with their latest studio album Hello Love.
This is the fourth album the Cambridge-based alt-country band have produced in just over four years - testament to their strong work ethic and reluctance to embrace the rock and roll lifestyle.
As the title suggests, Hello Love is an album primarily about love, but love infused with the bands usual brand of world weary cynicism, as opposed to the "love reduced to rhyming couplets" singer Steven Adams bemoans in Dancing on the 4th Floor.
Broken Family Band have shown in the past they are never afraid to try something new, and this is probably the least countrified record they have produced.
The influence of the Pixies in tracks such as Julian is clear to see, while the highlight of the album is So Many Lovers, a ballad which suits Adams's voice perfectly.
Hello Love is unlikely to win Broken Family Band national acclaim, but fans will no doubt be pleased with this new addition to the bands eclectic catalogue.
