A TALENTED sculptor whose work reflects human emotion will be exhibiting at an international exhibition in Germany.

Mark Humphreys of Shrubery Grove, Royston, will be one of five international artists who will have work on display at the Marziart Internationale Galerie in Hamburg.

He will be exhibiting 12 of his sculptures made from hand-carved stone, foundry bronze and limited editions in composite resins from March 2-29.

Mark, who is an elected associate member of the National Society, said: "I am particularly pleased to be showing in Hamburg as I've had a lot of interest from Germany.

"This trip has conincided with my plans to start exhibiting in other countries in Europe and further afield."

This is not the first time Mark has exhibited his work abroad.

In February last year several of his sculptures were selected by the Ministry of Culture in Gibraltar for the 33rd International Art Exhibition. He was subsequently elected a member of the Fine Art Association and was offered a year long exhibiton at the Fine Art Gallery in Gibraltar.

He said: "I have had a lot of positive feedback and encouragement and my aim is to get my work out there so more people see it and recognise it."

Speaking from Hamburg, gallery director Marion Zimmerman told The Crow: "I was looking for talented artists and came across Mark's sculptors on his website.

"I was struck by their form and beauty. He works very sensitively and you can see a lot of things in his work because it's abstract. People will be able to interpret it in their own way.

"They are superb examples of his craftsmanship and dedication. I am sure his sculptures will be greatly admired here in Germany."
