THE SUCCESS of the likes of James Blunt has seen many artists jump on the "one man and his guitar" bandwagon.
This is not, however, an accusation that can be levelled at Tom Baxter.
While he and Blunt share many stylistic similarities, the Suffolk-based songwriter released debut LP Feather and Stone in 2004, a year before Blunt shot to prominence.
After three years of touring, Baxter has returned to the studio and recorded a new album, Skybound, which remains faithful in style to its predecessor, with Baxter sounding characteristically tranquil on tracks such as Better and Tell Her Today.
However, so laid back is this album that it makes for a generally bland listening experience, with many of the songs merging seamlessly into one another.
