Available from Monday February 27. IT'S really a matter of luck that fun sci-fi flick Serenity ever made it to the big screen. The movie is a spin-off of the short-lived American TV series, Firefly that didn't even have a second season commissioned. It also has a complex mix of what most would consider incompatible genres, with a combination of Western, science fiction, thriller and comedy. Captain Mal Reynolds is in charge of spacecraft Serenity and his crew of relatively chilled-out mercenaries. But the tranquillity on the ship is disturbed once two passengers are on board. In all, it works whether you have seen the original TV series or not, but keep concentrating and expect lots of random twists and turns throughout.
