SINGER-songwriter Nanci Griffith has become intimate with a new collection.
This includes her own interpretation of work from the likes of Tom Waits, Jim Webb and Willie Nelson.
Griffith revisits some of her own material, too, including Late Night Grande Hotel.
This is Griffith delivering an album which, in days past, we would have probably described as torch songs.
It is a restrained production, but that is exactly as it should be with the material she has at her disposal.
