Magician and comedian, Pete Firman will be at Saffron Walden Town Hall on Thursday, February 14.

Firman began his interest in magic aged eight when his mum bought him a magic book. He twice won his school talent show in Middlesbrough and then studied theatre at the University of Hull.

He played in pubs until he applied to advertisement calling for magicians for a new television show, Monkey Magic.

He sent in a tape of himself in his underpants doing tricks in a friend’s back garden and was hired.

The first seven-part series of Monkey Magic was broadcast on Five in 2003 with a Christmas special. The show featured a team of four magicians each with their own different style and personality.

The programme was short listed for a British Comedy Award and nominated for a Rose d’Or.

Doors 7pm, show 7.30pm. Ages 15+. Tickets, £17.50 from WWW.jesterlarf.com or Saffron Walden Tourist Information in the Market Square 01799 524002.
