TO say the least, this is a book about a cricket tour with a difference.
Harry Thompson had the idea of taking an amateur cricket team around the globe and playing on each of the seven continents.
Once he assembled his party of amateur players they departed on a tour which turned more into an adventure which has been brilliantly captured in Thompson's writing.
The episode from which the book gets its title is hilarious enough, but there are other moments in which Thompson displays his skill as a writer and an observer of, well, Englishmen abroad.
