TWO new sculptures by artist Paul Bainbridge are on show at an exhibition at Curwens Solicitors in Royston. The exhibition will showcase the new sculpture, based around the theme of silk dancing, alongside some of Mr Bainbridge's other work. He said: "These new sculptures represent a diversion into figurative sculpting for me, and were created as a corporate commission. The company was holding a dinner in a circus tent, where the after-dinner entertainment was a performance from two silk dancers. To complement this, I produced a figurine of a dancer, and a table top candelabra, both of which are on display." Speaking of the Curwens gallery in the High Street, he said: "I think its a great idea and an excellent way to support local artists." The sculptures will be on display until July 31. Also on show are paintings by artists Sue Sanders and Kerry Page.
