PIGEON-holing Hot Chip is a tricky business.
While at times the band sound like natural successors to electro-pop outfits such as The Chemical Brothers, at others their roots in indie-rock are clear for all to see.
In their third studio album, Made in the Dark, Alexis Taylor and Co adroitly display the many facets of the bands character.
Ready for the Floor's infectious chorus marks it out as a possible successor to the anthemic Over and Over, while the robotic rhythm of Bendable, Poseable is reminiscent of Daft Punks' Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.
Add to this melodic title track Made in the Dark, and Shake a Fist, complete with a sample from veteran American singer/songwriter Todd Rundgren, and you have an album which is sure to considerably enhance Hot Chip's already growing reputation.
