THE sister of John Lennon has revealed a part of the life of the Beatle that in the past had been shrouded in a certain amount of mystery.

It is known that John was removed from his mother at the age of five and went to live with his Aunt Mimi.

But here Julia Baird shows the cruelty of the decision and examines a life of a youngster who often visited his mother and, obviously, his sister.

She tells, too, of the tragic death of John's mother in a road accident when he was a 17-year-old.

As would be expected it was an event that is seen to have changed his life.

The book shows Lennon dealing with success and the emotion of his early life which led to much of his songwriting.
