MEMBERS of the Royston Photograph Society have received a Lottery Awards for All grant of almost £4,500.
The money will be used for a project to introduce the wider public to digital photography.
Society vice-chairman Terry Hartga said people often did not take up digital photography because of "perceived difficulties".
"The aim of the project is to demonstrate the possibilities for people from all walks of life to become proficient photographers.
The grant will be used to buy equipment for running the project.
Terry said the society wants to encourage the public - especially the more elderly and disabled in the community - to become "actively involved" in digital photography and using computers for image editing.
- The society meets every Tuesday at Icknield Walk School, Royston from 7.45pm.
