A tribute to Frank Sinatra and the artists of his era, including Marilyn Monroe, Peggy Lee and Bobby Darren, will be at Chelmsford Civic Theatre on Sunday, February 3.
A tribute to Frank Sinatra and the artists of his era, including Marilyn Monroe, Peggy Lee and Bobby Darren, will be at Chelmsford Civic Theatre on Sunday, February 3.
In a special matinee performance, Sinatra, Sequins and Swing: The Capitol Years Live, is a celebration the music and glamour of the 1950s.
The show focuses on Sinatra’s famed period at Capitol Records from 1953-61 and its legendary songs which became classics.
A highlight of the show is Marilyn Monroe’s song Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend from the film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Vocalist Kevin Fitzsimmons plays Frank Sinatra and singer Kitty La Roar plays Marilyn Monroe.
The Capitol Orchestra, featuring soloists from Ronnie Scott’s Big Band and the BBC Big Band, has been well-received by avid fans of the era at venues across the country.
