There is a chance to see the Marx Brothers, all four of them: Groucho, Harpo, Chicko and Zeppo, on the big screen on Saturday, November 3.

Arguably the Marx Brothers’ funniest film, this comedy masterpiece tells the story of the inept regime of Freedonia which bumbles into war with neighbouring Sylvania just because their leader, Groucho has paid a month’s rent in advance on the battlefield.

The anti-war satire is full of gags and inspired physical comedy. A great entry point to the Marx world, described as perfect for all the family.

Typical of the humour are exchanges between Groucho’s Rufus T Firefly and Margaret Dumont’s stately matriarch (“I could dance with you until the cows come home. On second thoughts, I’d rather dance with the cows till you come home”).
