FORMER Velvet Underground mainstay John Cale plays The Junction this month.

Cale, born in Wales and moving to New York in the 60s, has a wide and varied musical style.

In The Velvet Underground he played bass, keyboards and viola, after forming the band with Lou Reed and others in 1966, and having connections with avant garde artist Andy Warhol.

Cale's solo work covers a variety of styles, and he showcases his work at The Junction on January 28, at 7pm.
