The Boxing Day meet at Huntingdon races is the most popular date of the year for the Cambridgeshire course, and organisers report bumper demand for tickets with the holiday falling at the weekend this year.
General ticket sales are running at 20 per cent ahead of where they were this time a year ago, say organisers.
A gate of around 6,000 people is expected, with a family feel to the proceedings with mulled wine and roast chestnuts on offer.
General manager Sian Williams said: “Boxing Day at Huntingdon is a very affordable festive day out. I would urge people to set off in plenty of time to get to the course, which is clearly signed with a number of routes in place.”
