DESPITE its moral tone and political speeches there is not much in Blood Diamond that really shows a country in crisis.
After all, we should have been reminded that this is war-torn Sierra Leone.
Blood Diamond attempts an uplifting message as Leonardo DiCaprio eventually displays an unsuspecting good side after spending most of the time as a ruthless soldier turned diamond smuggler.
As such he is after a share in a large raw jewel which was discovered by a man who has escaped the enslavement of a brutal rebel leader.
The moral side is left to Jennifer Connelly as a journalist concerned about the diamond trade and Djimon Hounsou, as the ex-rebel captive.
