VETERAN classic rock band Wishbone Ash are still on the road after nearly 40 years.

And tonight (Thursday) they play The Junction in Cambridge.

The band was formed in October 1969, with a mix of blues, jazz, and English folk.

Gradually they developed a twin lead guitar sound that would become their trademark.

The band has a new album out - but it is actually 37 years old.

The recordings on First Light were made in their early days as they tried to secure a recording contract.

They were rediscovered recently, and put up for sale on Christie's online auction house, and the buyer offered them back to the band's Andy Powell in the hope they would be released.

Tickets for Wishbone Ash's Junction gig are £16, or £15 in advance, and doors open at 7pm.
