TALK about a rush to judgment.
Tony Blair has just left No 10 Downing Street and here is his spin doctor already giving the inside story of life during the past decade.
It has to be said, however, that Alistair Campbell did say that his diaries would be published just as soon as the Blair era came to end.
In its way this is an important record of life at the centre of government during tumultuous times which included, obviously, the invasion of Iraq, the Hutton Inquiry, the quest for peace in Northern Ireland and the dawn of New Labour.
History is still to judge the Blair era, but Campbell has begun the process.
