BASSINGBOURN Youth under-eights have been given a much-needed boost following Bassingbourn Barracks' donation of new football shirts.
The Army Training Regiment (ATR), which is based at the barracks, enjoy a good relationship with the club and decided to help out the youngsters, with Corporal Barry Hope presenting them with their new shirts.
Bassingbourn Youth under-eights coach Phil French said: "Things came to a head a few weeks ago when it was teeming with rain and some of our players had to wear wet shirts at the start of their game. We simply didn't have enough shirts to go around.
"One of our parents is in the ATR and thanks to their generosity all the players now have their own shirts.
