TWO of Royston ABC's talented youngsters impressed with wins at the Norwich Diamond Dinner Show.
Thirteen-year-old Ryan Hutchings got proceedings underway with an uncompromising victory in his under-42kg bout, seeing off Daniel Snare of Dereham ABC with a unanimous decision after three rounds.
The Meridian School student has now won his last four bouts.
Coach Tony Carloin said: "Ryan was outstanding and his performance got a lot of people talking.
"It was a stylish victory and he was well drilled from start to finish - he's progressing very nicely."
Fellow Meridian School student Conor Barnard, 16, also impressed the crowd with his under-71kg bout with Norwich boxer C.Wilson, stopped in the third round following a powerful display.
Carloin said: "It was another good showing, and after a tough opening round, Conor was just too strong.
"He has a great left jab, and after having his opponent on the ropes the referee stopped the bout. Like Ryan, Conor did extremely well."
A third Royston boxer, Wesley Washington, 13, had been expected to show his talent, but is bout was unfortunately cancelled.
Carloin added: "It was a great showing from our boys and I was very pleased with them, we have some very talented boxers at the club.
"We've got our dinner show coming up in a few weeks time, and that will give people the chance to see how good some of our boys really are. Of our last nine outings we've come away with eight wins - and that is very encouraging.
