ROYSTON Golf Club recorded a fine victory in their second CAGU scratch league fixture, dominating all three matches.
The young Royston side played some outstanding golf, leaving their opponents in awe despite a great performance from Menzies Cambridgeshire player Kevin Taylor.
Adam Woods and Chris Trimble beat Taylor and his partner, two up in the foursomes' matchplay event.
The youthful top pair of Stuart Phillips and Jack Yetton, romped to a 10-hole rout, a victory that was followed by a win from junior captain Oli Bance and Tom Greenaway, who recorded a five-hole victory.
Greenaway is a player in a rich vein of form, as he won the prestigious Adamson China Cup title the day before.
The 36-hole medal competition held at Therfield Heath, saw Greenaway trailing morning leader Denis Barclay by two shots after shooting a net 68 from his four handicap.
But Greenaway played some steady golf and in the afternoon recorded a 68, winning by two shots.
Peter Mitchell was equally triumphant in the Grace Darling Charity Stableford on Saturday.
His 41 points was enough to seal victory over Trevor Sweeting, who finished second.
Richard Lane was third with 38 points.
Jo Hilliard added another victory in the ladies section, pushing Janice Abrahams into second place.
The Ladies Medal was played on Thursday, when Sally Campbell-Gray was the worthy winner.
Sandra Williams finished second and Val Squires beat a host of players for the third place.
Sally is now leading the chase for the Lady Golfer of the Year, which is based on the results of the medal and cup competition.
