BUNTINGFORD COUGARS ROUND UP EMMA Trehearn and Kerryn Westrip were on target as the under-10 girls fought back from a goal down to record their first victory of the season, against Garston Ladies. There was also success for the under-nine A team as they hammered Stevenage Borough Tigers 8-2. Callum Faik netted a hat-trick and Daniel Howard and Aedan Gaffney each hit a brace, with Liam Price completing a dominant performance. The B team also took on Hatfield and were two down after five minutes. The defence rallied but Cougars proved to be unlucky in front of goal, and Hatfield sealed their victory with a further two goals in the second half. The under-sevens were unlucky not leave Hatfield with a victory but were forced to settle for a goalless draw. Jack McMeechan had a well-taken penalty saved in the first half and other chances were either squandered or well saved by the Hatfield keeper. Christopher Bowell ran the midfield, while Paul Briffett was tireless up front, and Aaron Callcut was again splendid in defence. A brace each for Reece Fitzgerald and Jack Caine ensured another victory for the under-eight A team at Hitchin. The team showed great spirit and some spectacular push-and-run moves sealed Hitchin's fate. Some great goalkeeping from Benjamin Walker and superb goals from George Woods and Charlie Owen kept Hitchin at bay for the B team, ensuring the double victory for Cougars. Cougars under-10s emerged victorious in their pair of games against Royston Town Colts. They dominated both, with the A team goals coming from Ollie Dent, James Hughes and Daniel Share, while the B team's honours came courtesy of Chris Marshall and a brace each for Tommy Adeyemi and Harry O'Callaghan. The under-12s surrendered a 2-1 lead to rue their luck again this week as they lost to Stevenage Borough Tigers. The visitors started with an early goal but Cougars got back in it just before half-time with an equally fortunate goal. After the break, Oliver Lee-Stevens added another and Cougars looked comfortable. However, Tigers struck back with a good solo goal and added to their lead shortly after. As Cougars pushed for the equaliser, Tigers hit them on the break with a minute to go.
