ROYSTON were unable to continue their positive start to the season as they were defeated by new to the league Witchford at the weekend.
Although Royston started well, the height of the Witchford defence caused problems early on and proved difficult to overcome.
There were times where the gap was closed between the two teams due to solid centre court play from Huttlestone, Davies and Clark but the Witchford shooters were a strong force with few missed shots between them.
Although the result wasn't as Royston had hoped, there were many positives to play with new player Jen Wilamowska performing well in the defensive circle and Laughlin shooting well in the final quarter.
With a tournament break next weekend, Royston look forward to their next match on October 3.
