ROYSTON basketball player Nathan Wilson had a perfect start for London Leopards as his 16 points helped them to an 81-79 victory against West Anglia Fury on Saturday.
Seventeen-year-old Wilson became the youngest player to start a competitive game for the Big Cats, and he scored their final eight points of the game to snatch victory in the National Trophy.
"Nathan played really well," said assistant coach Lloyd Gardner.
"We said we would concentrate on bringing young players through, and it worked tonight.
"Nathan really stepped up to help us get the win."
The former Meridian and Greneway student, who attends the basketball academy at Barking Abbey school in east London, is expected to start for Leopards when they travel to Sheffield Arrows on Sunday.
- Leopards' next fixture at Wodson Park, Ware, is on Saturday, October 13, when Taunton Tigers are the visitors, tip-off 7.30pm.
