ROYSTON manager Phil Snowden says his players need to raise their game ahead of Saturday's clash at Stony Stratford.

The Crows boss was disappointed with last weekend's 3-3 draw with Harpenden and questioned the players' efforts at half-time.

He said: "They switched off and gifted Harpenden two early goals, and when that happens it will always to be an uphill struggle."

"They didn't seem to want to know in the first half. So at half time I had a bit of a go at them."

Whatever he said it appeared to work, because within 20 minutes Royston were in front with Graham Tibbals adding to his first half strike and Dave McMurrough finding the net before Harpenden equalised with 90 seconds remaining.

Snowden said: "It was a good second-half performance, and that's what I want to see this Saturday - and a few of them have to put a bit more effort in."

Snowden is expecting James Scott, Allan Reid and David Daniels to return, but will still be without the injured Michael Baker and Rob Gywnne, as well as the unavailable Seb Ndombe and Nicky Morgan.

He said: "Stony Stratford have been doing quite well in the league, so we're going to have to work hard. If everyone is available then we'll be fine - if not who knows?"

- Royston travel to Hoddesdon on Tuesday for round two of the SSMFL Division 1 Cup.
