GRENEWAY School's year six tag rugby team put in a valiant effort in the North Herts Schools' under-11 tournament.
Some excellent running and passing rugby helped the team to wins in their opening matches against Beechwood and Pixmore Schools.
An enthralling encounter with Codicote saw the teams draw 5-5, meaning both progressed to the knock out stages.
In the quarter finals they came up against a very talented team from Sandon School.
This was another closely fought match, with Sandon edging it, five tries to three.
A spokesman for the school said: "The day was a valuable and enjoyable experience for all concerned and once again the sporting behaviour shown by all the participants was a pleasure to behold.
