TWO great matches between two well-matched teams saw Shefford take the honours on Saturday morning.

In the first match, Shefford scored the only goal of the game halfway through the first half.

More goals could have followed for both teams as the play went from end to end and George Moore and James Hogben deserve special mention as Biggleswade tried everything to get the equaliser.

The second match, albeit with different players, saw exactly the same pattern as the first as the game ebbed and flowed.

Shefford managed to get into a two goal lead before a great goal from Jacob Guildford halved the deficit.

Shortly after Jacob had another chance which produced a fine save from the Shefford keeper.

Biggleswade continued to press with Kai Richards going close but Shefford quickly broke to the other end of the pitch and duly scored.

All told a much improved performance by United which they can take great heart from for the rest of the season.
