THE under-nines had a brace of wins against Bedwell Rangers. The first game saw Cougars work very hard for their 2-1 win.

Man of the match, Cougars keeper Ben Walker, saved a penalty and making great saves keeping them in the game. Goals from Charlie Rome and Adam Froggett sealed the victory.

The second game was a little easier for the Cougars. Three goals from man of the match from George Woods put Buntingford well on their way to a good 5-1 win. Cougars had most of the ball and goals from Charlie Rome and Sam Rice sealed a fine win.

The under-10s also collected a pair of wins when they faced Melbourn Dynamos.

It was a fine move early in the second half that saw the A team take the lead when George Ganellin running down the left wing crossed to allow Calum Faik to find the net.

Cougars dominated the second half and got their rewards when Liam Price netted from close range.

A fine performance saw the B team romp to a 6-0 win with a brace of goals for Calum Brown, Hugh Wrigley and Shane Dansie.

Man-of-the-match Charlie Payne commanded the midfield and chased every ball while Josh Poulton defended his goal superbly.

Cougars under 12s had a nightmare game against Ashwell at the weekend. Cougars had a few chances to score but just could not find the back of the net, unlike Ashwell who came away 4-0 up.

The scoreline could have been different but for some good goal keeping from Toby Greig.

The under-13s Blues started their game against Fairlands Youth tentatively but were soon one up when Harry Tuttle tapped in from close range.

Fairlands rallied and playing against the strong wind Cougars were forced to defend in numbers.

Both William Kirby and Lloyd Bowman were impressive at the back as they made several superb tackles.

The Blues started the second half strongly and went two up when the Fairland's keeper failed to hold onto a long-range shot from George Duffin.

The visitors still pressed forward, but again the Cougars defence held firm. Luke Reed was outstanding in midfield winning most of the loose balls.

Sam Deville then put the Blues three up from a corner and an own goal gave Cougars a convincing 4-0 win.

The under-eight Blues suffered only their third defeat of the season as they played host to the impressive Bedwell Rangers team.

The first half was an even affair but Cougars failed to capitalise on their chances and were punished when they failed to clear from their own goalmouth and conceded just before half time.

Bedwell then broke at will in the second half and punished Cougars with a further four goals. If not for Josh Wyatt in goal the score line could have been higher.

The Whites had their game abandoned early in the second half due to bad weather. Despite being 1-0 down they had the majority of the ball and were carving out good opportunities.
