THREE Bassingbourn Village College pupils are preparing to take on the best swimmers in the eastern counties after qualifying for the regional championships.

Fourteen-year-olds Alex Raine, and Ellie Mason, along with Emma Jones, 15, are set to race at the annual meet at Norwich later this summer after impressing at the Bedfordshire County Championships in March.

All three are members of Bigggleswade Swimming Club, and the Biggleswade-based Mid Beds Swim Squad.
