SOME of Royston Golf Club's most talented young players showed how much they have improved at the club's recent junior championships.
The winner of the contest was Tom Trimble with a gross score of 69, one over par.
A spokesman for the golf club said: "Tom now plays off a six handicap, and it does not seem many years ago since he was half the size with a handicap in the 20's."
Runner up was Lauren Hunt, the best young golfer to play off the Ladies Tees. She achieved a creditable gross score of 76 playing off a nine handicap.
Meanwhile Jonathon Windle won the Handicap Shield competition with a net score of 65, while the Cadet Prize was won by George de Fraine, with Lyle Clark runner up.
